September 10–12, 2026: Watermelon Pickers’ Fest

One of the Mid-Atlantic’s most beloved roots-music gatherings returns this fall as Watermelon Pickers’ Fest takes over the Clarke County Ruritan Fairgrounds for three days of bluegrass, old-time, Americana, and nonstop jamming. 

Expect full days of music across multiple stages, instrumental workshops, band and picking contests, kids’ activities, and legendary late-night jams that run well past sunset. 

Camping is available onsite, including car and RV camping, with early-arrival options and upgraded glamping accommodations for those looking to stay close to the action. Families are welcome, kids 12 and under get in free, and the festival’s community-first vibe makes it as much a participatory music camp as a traditional festival.

Lineup highlights are still rolling out, but past editions point to a strong mix of top-tier bluegrass and roots artists alongside regional favorites and workshop leaders—perfect for listeners, pickers, and dancers alike.
